Broadband Satellite Tv

Quite a few satellites orbit above the earths surface, over 50. These are spaced out two to three degrees apart. The satellites orbit at exactly the same speed and direction as the earth itself so that they remain in a fixed position above a particular area, which helps to make it easy for you to receive a signal.

Each satellite only covers around 1/3 of the world's surface, this is because it is the only area that is visible from the satellite's position. For certain broadband satellite tv to receive signals, what are known as "spot beams", are pointed directly down at certain times.

Massive multi national companies own the satellites used for brodband satellite tv. Newskies, Eutelsat, and Intelsat are three of these companies. Some national companies and regional operators are also available for you to subscribe to.

There are many features of a Broadband Satellite TV.

Internet service providers offer broadband satellite tv, these ISPs sell their services to consumers. Many of them provide free equipment to get you started and offer monthly subscriptions, each of which depends on the capacity you require (what channels).

When you subscribe to a broadband satellite TV provider, you will get a small satellite dish, which could be 60cm all the way through to 3.7m in diameter, and you'll get a receiver module, and a suitable transmit module. This equipment is vital to you being able to receive signals from the satellite broadband, and extracting data from your computer or network. If you have this equipment inside your home it can prepare your system for data transmission, whenever you click the mouse over the internet.

When you subscribe for broadband satellite tv, you will be paying for an amount of data, or a specific bit rate, such as 512k down. This means that when you download a file, the highest speed will be 512k bits. Most broadband satellite tv providers offer "shared bit rates", these will be limited or lower bit rates that offer a specified capacity that you will be sharing.

Its good to be aware that if you choose to use the sharing arrangements, you will be given a monthly upload and download limit. This is done to ensure that other users can block you from receiving broadcasts. The policies surrounding the 'fairness' can be complicated and will vary from one broadband satellite tv provider to the next.

If having limits puts you off, then you can subscribe with a CIR (continuous information rate) service that lets you upload and download unlimited data to your hearts content. Just expect a more expensive subscruption rate if you decide to go down this route, as they are generally used for commercial purposes, like internet cafes and other businesses that require large bit rates.

The Idea Of Global Village

The idea of the world being a global village is based on three main ideas.

First, on the idea of technology and media shrinking ‘space’ and ‘time’. The second aspect is the liberalization of markets and a third angle is the freedom of transportation. These three factors combine to strengthen the notion of the world really being a global village. Most citizens of the ‘first world’ are happy to believe that this indeed is the case. They claim that if they can follow a war being fought in another country on their TV sets like its happening in their living room. The world must have shrunk. They cite instances of people corresponding in a matter of seconds through voice chat and Emails. An old father in Mumbai proudly displays the earnings of his NRI son through quick money transfers. A husband in Sun City smiles as his wife in London gets a bouquet, bought and delivered through internet services. And a young man exults in the ‘small world’ where he breakfasts in Banglore and has lunch in Singapore!!! It is feedbacks of this nature that prompted McLuhan to write: ‘Today, after more than a century of electric technology, we have extended our central nervous system in a global embrace, abolishing both space and time as far as our planet is concerned’

So, does that mean the world is a global village? No, it does not. The reason for the negation is that though the above examples are true for a certain section of the world, they do not hold true for the majority of the world. It is sad but true that a large section of world population comprising the third world is still not connected to the rest of the world…politically, economically, socially and technologically.

Technology and media have still left many places and lives untouched. People living in the interior parts of India, China, Middle East, Africa…they are largely unaware of where the other world has reached. As for the liberalization of trade or shall we call it globalization, if one looks closer, it is nothing but disguised colonialism. Just that now it is economic instead of political. A convenient way for the rich countries to get richer at the cost of the poor ones. The money transfers are still to happen both ways!

Last, but not the least…freedom of transportation. Well! Imagine a country like Ethiopia where 80% of a person’s earning is spent on water. Who has the money to travel? And if one has the money…well..then one is just lucky enough to be a part of the ‘exclusive global village’.

A global village then is akin to Orwell’s Utopia- a dream worth dreaming…but still a dream.

Have More Fun With Your Website

Since I was getting bored with blogging everyday, I created a website last month. Because I am not an Internet thingy, I began with free stuffs.

At first, I googled free website and found a free web hosting with free domain and web tools. My first webpage was all about news, because I thought I would attract many people to read it. Unluckily, my friends were the only one who visited my site then. They commented that my website looked OK but lacked some interactive features.

Then I found another free web hosting who gave me 1.5 GB of bandwidth, 50 MB disk space, web-based FTP, web templates, and many web tool add-ons. I upgraded my website with guestbook, message forum, photo center, site search, etc. At this time, I knew how to add a counter to track the visitors to my site. I also used a mini poll to ask what my visitors like and do not like in my new website.

However, the counter states and visitor feedbacks continued disappointing me. My close friend, who is an Internet connoisseur, asked me to add some funny stuffs such as funny pictures, funny video clips, funny audio clips, funny song parodies, funny music, and so on. Then he suggested me to download free trial products from AVnex Ltd. download page (http://mp3-player.audio4fun.com/free-audio-software.htm).

I downloaded Music Morpher Gold because I wanted to make some funny song parodies with my own voice. I found it quite interesting because it can change my voice to a male voice, change the tempo of songs. However, the most exciting part is to add sound effects to make the song background music.

Since then, the page hits have been improved increasingly. Later on, I downloaded DVD Player Morpher Gold to create some video clips and short funny movies. The download hits have surged considerably thanks to AVnex software.

If you look for some funny things to do in these boring summer days, I suggest you use Voice Changer Software, Webcam Software to have funny chat with your changed voice and fake face. These two softwares are compatible with Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, Skype, etc.

Mathew Frank, The Creator Of Intratrakker

Who is this Mathew Frank guy and what the heck is IntraTrakker? Is this guy for real?

Allow me to reveal to you the truth about Mathew and his revolutionary new software IntraTrakker. The rumors that are going around have some truth to them.

Yes, Mathew Frank was an underground hacker that has worked for the Australian government on computer system security issues, hacking for a Canadian company that is currently consulting for the US Federal government, and has recently acted as a security consultant for a company in New Zealand.

I was unable to get Mathew to disclose further details of this work for obvious reasons of secrecy. Of course now he's no longer 'underground', so he'll have to watch his step as to what he reveals and what is best left secret.

Like most hackers, he was self-taught to begin with, and then went on to study engineering and programming to further his skills. He then followed up his interest in Internet marketing and attended one of Jay Abraham and Stephen Pierce's Internet Empire Apprenticeship Programs. That's where he made some valuable contacts which sparked the ideas that led him to start developing covert marketing 'tactical weapons' for an elite group.

So what is IntraTrakker? Well, it's the first of his covert marketing tactical weapons that he's choosing to unleash at this time, and although it's just one small step for a programmer like Mathew, it really is a giant leap for the covert internet marketing operatives that choose to utilise this invaluable tool.

There really has been nothing like IntraTrakker available before, and it certainly does give you inside intelligence about the behaviours of your target market. It's that very information that you need as a marketer to give you the edge on what your customers want.

As for the other tactical weapons that Mathew has up his sleave, well, I do have insider information on their capabilities, but I can't tell you what they are at this time. I've been sworn to secrecy.

What I can tell you is this: That his marketing weapon toolbox is powerful, and could be dangerous if it got into the wrong hands. I can understand completely why he wouldn't want to disclose some of these tools to just anyone. Not only would it jeopardize the effectiveness of the tools if everyone were using them, but it could also be disastrous in the hands of someone who would use them for unethical means.

That being said, I suggest that if you want to excel in internet marketing and gain access to these tools in the future, then keep a close eye on what Mathew Frank is up to, sign up to his list, befriend him now before fame puts him out of reach, and take him up on his offers. He's going to be letting a lot more people have access to IntraTrakker than he will to the other tools in his toolbox, and I wouldn't doubt that he'll give first dibs to the covert internet marketing operatives that purchased IntraTrakker.

Mathew Frank is giving you a small window of opportunity to join his elite group of covert operatives. From what I've seen thus far, from being on the inside, I suggest you take it while it's available.

Betting Lines Are Affected More By Who Makes The Bet, Not How Much Is Wagered

A fellow strikes a few keys on a computer keyboard or strides into a licensed sportsbook in Nevada and wagers $5,000 on a football game. The move triggers an immediate and frenzied reaction from the houses numbers cruncher, who quickly consults with his bosses or telephones the casino's sister properties and adjusts the betting lines on the team that just was bet.

A few minutes later another man (or woman) strikes the very same computer keys or walks up to the very same window at the very same sportsbook and wagers a whopping $50,000 on a football game. The very same house bookmaker makes note of the wager but otherwise does not stir from reading the morning newspaper. There are no betting lines adjustments this time.

What the heck is going on here?

Bookmakers have learned that the amount of money bet often is secondary in importance to the identity of the person who places the wager. For example, a hotel guest who lumbers into the sportsbook from the gaming tables with a cocktail in one hand, a load of black chips in the other and what he believes is an informed opinion, usually is not viewed as a serious threat to the house's bottom line. Online, a player not known for his wagering acumen may also make a large bet without raising a bushy eyebrow. For the most part, sportsbooks are far more threatened by the activities of savvy players and gambling syndicates.

Because bet takers always are looking to get ahead of the action, to find that one right number that attracts equal or near equal activity to each side of a game, distinguishing and separating recreational or unsophisticated bettors, called 'squares,' from professional bettors, known as 'sharps,' can be crucial to a sportsbook's well-being. One way sportsbooks do this is by reacting as quickly as possible to the moves made by professional bettors.

But first, bookmakers have to identify the 'sharps,' who, in an attempt to get their wagers down at the most attractive betting lines, often use a variety of tricks and subterfuge. Known by sight to most bookmakers, many sophisticated bettors employ 'runners' or 'beards' to place their wagers, frequently striking with military-like precision at several sportsbooks at the same time.

Of course, bookmakers, who are trained to look for tip-offs such as clipboards or cell phones, eventually become familiar with the runners and the cat-and-mouse game begins anew.

Online, shrewd professionals will open a series of accounts at a number of reputable sportsbooks, spreading out their action on betting lines to try to camouflage their true intent.

In addition to the overall quality of their play, 'sharps' differentiate themselves from 'squares' in several other ways. Most obviously, 'sharps' are professionals who derive their income from their play while 'squares' have "real" jobs.

Generally, say sportsbook managers, 'sharps' are low-key, gracious and unassuming while players who boast about their successes usually are 'squares' with little chance of winning.

'Sharps' also distinguish themselves by the number of games they bet and the consistency of their wagers on each of those games. Typically, 'sharps' bet about half a dozen games during a football weekend. 'Squares' bet one or two, or even worse, nearly the whole card.

"If you believe you have an edge you don't want to bet just one or two games," explained a professional sports bettor who asked that his name be withheld. "If you play only a couple of games, luck becomes much too overwhelming of a factor. You don't want to be in a situation where a bad bounce or a lousy call from a referee beats you and that's the only game you've played. If you've played a handful of games, maybe five or six, and you're any good, you can overcome a bad beat."

There's also little variation in the size of bets made by 'sharps.'

"You pretty much bet the same amount on each game," said the player. "I don't have a 'best bet,' a 'game of the week' or anything like that. C'mon, if I really knew which of my bets were 'best' wouldn't I just make those bets? I think all my bets are going to win; that's why I make them."

Finally, the 'sharp' player never measures success in the short run so he never has to "get out" on an unlikely parlay or chase after the final game of the day or the weekend. Poker players are fond of saying that one session doesn't mean anything. 'Sharps' understand that.

So if you see betting lines move, its probably because of the who not the how much.

Recording The Guitar to a Computer

You want to record your guitar, make your own riffs, music, etc. You want to plug my guitar into my computer? How to connect the guitar to the computer the right and best way? What software? Which audio interface? What about my favorites guitar effects? What computer? Where to start? It can be overwhelming.

The recording guitarist's computer setup should be something like this:

* Guitar (*GTR with 13 pin connection recommended) * Microphone for recording Acoustic guitar, vocals etc. * Quality guitar cable * Audio Interface-Firewire (recommended) or USB * Guitar/midi interface * USB/Firewire cables * Computer (Mac recommended or PC) * Extra external/internal Hard Drive (recommended) * Audio recording/sequencer software * Plug-ins: effects- reverb, compressor, delay, chorus, etc o Dedicated guitar effects/amp simulation o Sampler/synths (for 13 pin guitarists or guitarist who can play keyboards) * Quality cables to speakers * Powered Speakers * Headphones (so you do not disturb the wife an kids at those late weekend sessions).

Some recording setups:

-Setting up your whole live rig and putting a microphone in front of the your cabinet, playing at loud volumes so you get the amp to sound right, push the speaker enough, putting your speaker in a closet, using a blanket to damping volume, etc. -You could use a load on you speaker and record direct.

-Use a preamp that is compensated for direct recording as the front end. You can plug this into outboard effects or add plug-ins

-You could record from your pedal board or any outboard multi-effects you might own. You probably end up with a direct type sound. Some multi-effects have amp simulation that might take the edge off the direct sound.

With any of these scenarios you are committing yourself to the recorded track. If you record with effects, you can't change it later. You would have to re-record! And if you do not re-record on the same day or you have to come back and have to set up the rig again, hopefully the knobs setting were written down, place the speaker in the same place etc, etc.... If you get into the recording other instruments or mixing the song and you want to change the guitar sound, tone, effects, etc, -- you have to re-record!

With a guitar with a 13 pin connection, either internally or a pickup installed on the body, you get 100% use of your software. You can record your guitar sound and get access to any software synths or samplers that come with the software or as a plug-in add-on.

With a software computer base system, you can change almost everything after you have recorded--amps, effects, mics, mic placement and more. You do this with plug-ins. You can save all your presets, sounds, etc. You could have multi-guitar tracks with different settings all from recording one track. The flexibility is there! Yes, there are purists out there- "software can't sound like tubes". Well, the software is getting pretty close!!!!

There is a lot of software out there. You do not have to spend a lot of money AND it is always improving. You buy a box. (i.e.hard disk recorders, and others mentioned above), you have bought a box. You usually can't upgrade without buying a new box.

People use computers every day at work or home- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Power Point, etc) Email, Internet. Use it to record your guitar and music!!

Hopefully, this helps and you can check out more at http://www.guitarhelper.net

Internet Marketing: Yes, You Can Do It Yourself

Even if you don't know anything about internet marketing, it's not difficult for you to learn how to take advantage of its benefits. One of the easiest types of internet marketing that you can do is that of the email signature line. It requires nothing more than adding the address of your website to every outgoing email, thus increasing the potential that a new customer may see it, visit, and become interested in buying. Although you may not need this so much for your work email, if you have a separate email for your personal correspondence, it can work wonders for you. Since it's only a signature line, and not an actual advertisement, you don't have to worry about being accused of sending spam, but at the same time, you are able to get your point across.

Another thing you can do is make sure that you submit your website to the search engines. If you have a Webmaster who takes care of your website, this may be part of the deal with them, but you want to make sure of that. If you maintain your own website, it's important to make sure that you submit the site to as many of the search engines as possible. There are some places where you can submit free, but that involves a link back to their site from your site, probably not a very businesslike proposition. Besides, if you pay for the service, you will be able to submit to more of the search engines along with directories and other places that will give your website very high exposure.

If you participate in a Pay-per-Click advertising scheme, you will not only be putting your advertising dollars to better use, you can choose where to place your advertisements, thus assuring that a greater amount of traffic comes to your site that is actually interested in your products or services. By targeting only certain types of websites, you have a better chance that those seeing your ad are ones who are interested in buying something from your website.

Although not as effective as the methods above, you can also place the link to your website on Free for All links pages where other people will see them. You want to make sure to choose those who do not require an email address to avoid unwanted advertisements in your email, so you want to find pages that are specifically for businesses such as yours rather than those who allow individuals to advertise services and projects in which they participate. You may also try classified advertisements, but these are in the same category as the FFA pages, and probably even less effective. They are good to add another marketing source, but don't expect too much from them.

Key Accessories Can Increase The Nintendo WII Price

The Nintendo Wii is the hottest gaming system on the market. Even now many retailers are sold out and awaiting new shipments of this revolutionary game system with its remote sensing control system. The Nintendo Wii is a hot commodity, and like any commodity the laws of supply and demand are in play, and high demand can often equate to high prices. If you are one of the millions of people considering a purchase of the Wii System then you are probably among those for whom the Nintendo Wii price is a consideration.

Fortunately, the Nintendo Wii price is at a point that is affordable for most people, and for approximately $249.99 USD you can jump right in almost literally and begin playing the game that everyone is talking about. However, the $250 dollar price point only gets you the basic Wii package, which includes one game Wii Sports one controller, the sensor bar, and the assorted power cords needed to plug in and play. While this assortment is more than capable of getting you up and running, the $250 Nintendo Wii price does not include many items you are sure to want as soon as you tire of playing Wii Sports against the computer.

One way to avoid endless shopping for additional games and accessories is to purchase a Nintendo Wii bundle from a retailer who offers such deals. Various retailers offer bundles all inclusive package deals that include the Wii system as well as additional memory, additional controller, and several additional game titles. While such packages can greatly increase the Nintendo Wii price by $200 to $400 dollars depending on the number of games and their titles it can give you all you need, and more, to get started gaming.

The Nintendo Wii price, without accessories, is roughly $250. But it is the accessories that make the Wii such a powerful and dynamic system, and the Nintendo Wii price does not include those additional items. While new game titles will cost roughly $50 each, it is not the new games that will take your Wii to new heights; it is the add-ons. A second controller and Nunchuk - secondary controller that plugs into the primary, wireless controller; the Wiimote will cost approximately $60. For those who wish to offset the Nintendo Wii price by continuing to play games from their Nintendo GameCube, they may need to purchase a GameCube controller if they do not already have one ($25). Further, if you want to save your ongoing GameCube games like you could do on the original GameCube then a memory card is needed ($25). For roughly the same prices as the memory card, an SD card 1 GB of additional memory can be purchased allowing you to download classic games through an Internet connection.

Like other accessories, Internet connectivity is not included in the Nintendo Wii price, and a wireless Wi-Fi USB connector is required ($100 and up). And if you want to see the fruit of your investments in the quality of High Definition, then a component video adapter is needed to deliver that crystal clear picture ($20).

After reading a list such as this one it is easy to wonder what you really get for that $250 Nintendo Wii price. The truth is that you get a lot, but if you want more and you want to maximize the capabilities of the system then investing in accessories that cost above and beyond the Nintendo Wii price will deliver exactly that. Fortunately, you dont have to buy them all at once.

Promotion Strategies: How Small Flash Drives Offer Big Marketing Opportunities

USB flash drives also often referred to as thumb drives or jump drives act as reusable portable hard drives. These small units about the size of a pack of gum can easily be carried in a pocket, worn around the neck like a necklace or used as a key chain by your clients and prospects. There are even USB flash pens with the flash drive hidden inside the writing utensil.

USB flash drives plug directly into your Universal Serial Bus (USB) port of a computer and are typically built to hold between 64 megabytes and 2 gigabytes of data. The popularity of flash drives have grown significantly over the past several years as storage capacities have increased and USB-enabled computers have become ubiquitous. The popularity and capabilities of flash drives has led to the advent of flash drive marketing.

The use of USB flash drives as effective marketing tools is continuing to evolve for forward thinking marketing professionals.

Custom Flash Drive Marketing Delivers Branded Product To Customers

Thumb drives can be stamped with a companys logo and as a result, custom logo USB drives have become trade show and convention favorites.

Companies are giving branded custom logo flash drives to key customers and prospects providing them with an instant reminder of your company every time they use the flash drive to transfer files or back up a document. Providing your customers (and potential customers) with a branded custom logo USB flash delivers a great way to market by keeping your brand in front of customers while giving them something of real value they will use over and over.

Flash Drive Marketing Delivers Branded Product With Targeted Messages

Using flash drives as branded giveaways and corporate gifts are just the tip of the marketing iceberg. Savvy marketers are increasingly using the storage capabilities of these compact devices to deliver their message. Flash drives can now be pre-loaded with data, music, video or other content. The devices can also be setup to auto-run a marketing message or load a specific website when inserted into a computer. Customers are able to continue to use the flash drive, storing their data alongside the pre-loaded content. A custom logo USB flash drive that also holds a pre-loaded message or presentation offers companies the benefit of delivering a branded product AND targeted message at the same time.

The concept of delivering your marketing messages via thumb drive was started several years ago when automobile manufacturers provided flash drives pre-loaded with presentations touting the features of their latest models. The idea has caught on and not just for big companies. Looking for creative and cutting edge ways to stand out from the competition, large, medium, and small sized firms, companies and organizations across a wide range of industries are now looking to flash drive marketing to communicate their messages.

Ways That Organizations Can Utilize Flash Drive Marketing:

Schools can provide handbooks and required course materials to incoming students via thumb drives featuring school colors and mascot. Students can continue to use the thumb drive for data storage and transfer throughout the school year

Design and creative agencies can provide multi-media portfolios with links to additional web-based content

Bands can promote and deliver new music via flash drive. In addition, bands can use USB mp3 players to allow users to listen to music directly from the device

As the popularity and capabilities of USB flash drives continue to grow, marketing professionals will continue to find unique and innovative ways to utilize flash drive marketing. The marketing possibilities may only be limited by the imagination.

Jim McKinley, Marketing Director of http://www.CFGear.com -- the leading retailer of USB flash drives -- helps companies increase their awareness by over 100% with customized flash drive marketing programs. Network Marketing Success - The Compounding Effects of Cooperative Marketing

"Money is multiplied as the length of your business extends"

By: Phil Barnao

Home Business Ventures will produce more financial freedom in the future than any other investment, period!

There are two types of people in the world today. Networkers who get paid and Networkers who do not get paid. Whether you realize it our not, you are a networker.

Does that sound a bit odd?

Let's take a moment to illustrate. Have you ever read a good book, watched a great movie or visited a terrific restaurant and then turned around and shared this with someone you knew? Of course, we all have. Well, this is networking. Sharing information and stories with others.

Now, when you told someone you knew about that marvelous movie you saw last Saturday night and then they went to see it, did you get paid? Did the movie studio send you a royalty or referral bonus for marketing their movie? Nope!

In this example lies the difference between the two types of people throughout the world. We all network, whether we realize it or not. The only question is whether or not you want to get paid for doing something that you already do.

In actuality

Everyone does Networking everyday; they just don't get paid for it.

Now, before we continue, let's clear up some myths and confusions. Pyramids, ponzi's and chain letters have absolutely no connection to Cooperative (or also know as) Network Marketing. They are unethical and generally illegal.

Unfortunately some Network Marketing companies in the past have operated with out integrity promoting get rich quick, fast and with little effort. These companies have deterred many folks from looking into this lucrative business model and have camouflaged a wonderful industry.

In a nut shell..

Proper Network Marketing is not only legitimate, lucrative and extremely ethical, but the concept is the underlying foundation of just about every company in the world. That is, getting products, services or information out to the consumer and generating a profit. However, in our Industry, "you" are the recipient of those profits, instead of the owners and upper management.

So What Is Network Marketing?

Network Marketing is the single greatest industry in the world today! Once you truly understand "what" it is and "what" it is not and "what" it can do for your quality of life, you will certainly agree.

What You Didn't Learn in School:
Network Marketing is a 65 year old time-proven industry that has produced more millionaires than any other industry. The Business Model is amazingly simple. And the best part? Everyone is qualified to excel in this industry regardless of age, education or experience.

Network Marketing is simply sharing information with others about a product or service you believe in and then teaching them to do exactly the same. That's it! It is working together with other people to ensure the success of all.

Moreover, this Industry provides a channel of distribution for companies with innovative or distinctive products not readily available in traditional retail stores, or who cannot afford to compete with the enormous advertising and promotion costs associated with gaining space on retail shelves. Network Marketing enhances the retail distribution infrastructure of the economy, and serves consumers with a convenient source of quality products.

Let's use an example to clarify. Think of any company that comes to mind. Typically, this company will probably have a CEO, president, some vice presidents, middle management and employees. Now, who makes the most money in our example? The CEO, right?

All the employees and middle management work very hard, but the people at the top benefit. The money flows up to the top. This is what most people are used to in any company with any job.

However, Network Marketing is very different. Everyone has an equal opportunity to earn as much as they want. You are not working for someone else because you are your own boss. The playing field is completely level and fair for everyone. It is the Industry that allows your dreams to come true!

Furthermore, here's a big twist from what you are probably accustomed to. In any company, do the people at the top help the people at the bottom try to reach the top? Typically not! However, in Network Marketing it is to your benefit to help people who are new to reach the top. The financial benefits are tremendous for all concerned. Specifically, you are paid to help others become more successful.

If you want to be financially free, diversify your investments, utilize more leverage, stop working for others (or working your self employed business to death), have more time for family, retire comfortably, travel, leave a legacy or just have a whole lot of fun then this business is worth looking into.

Why else would people who are already successful doctors, lawyers and other professionals...folks that own their own practices and law firms be willing to give it up or use it in addition to network marketing?

The answer is Simple. Because network marketing is one of the smartest, low capital and overhead, leverage utilizing business investments any person can make...and as a result it creates Freedom which is what most people are looking for.

Cranking the Volume on Your iPod or MP3 Player Can Damage Hearing

Kids have always loved listening to their favorite music, and the louder the better much to their parents dismay. In the 1980s, the portable tape recorder with headphones which came to be known as the Walkman enabled teenagers to listen to their music as loud as they wanted, anywhere they wanted, without disturbing anyone around them.

But the more modern rendition of the Walkman portable MP3 Players and iPods pose a major threat to our childrens hearing health, and to ours.

The problem is a combination of the technology of portable digital devices that creates a non-buffered crystal clear sound, and the type of headphones typically used with them, which do not have a buffer either. In December 2005, Dean Garstecki, an audiologist and professor at Northwestern University reported that more and more young people were being diagnosed with the types of hearing loss typically found in older adults. He attributed this trend to the earbud type headphones that usually accompany iPod and MP3 Players.

With the earbud headphones, the sound frequencies are not buffered as they are with the more traditional, ear cup-style headsets. Newsweek Magazine recently reported that researchers at the House Ear Institute found that listeners can unfortunately increase the volume of todays portable digital devices without the signal distortion that occurs with traditional analog audio. The older-model headphones that were popular just 15 to 20 years ago that have ear cups outside of the ears had that distortion when the volume was turned up, which functioned as a much-needed buffer to protect our hearing. Todays technology does not provide that buffer the earpiece is placed in the ear, not outside of it, and the digital devices do not create that distortion, no matter how high the volume.

In addition, people often listen to these devices while they are on the go, and have a tendency to crank the volume in an attempt to drown outside noise, further posing a risk to our hearing. Using the earbud style headphones during activities such as exercise, for example, puts the user at a greater risk. During exercise, blood, which can act as a buffer, is diverted from the ears to other parts of the body so our already vulnerable hearing is in even more jeopardy.

Headwize reports that a study conducted on music listeners using headphones revealed that while indoors with no background noise, the participants were comfortable with their music at 69 decibels. Outdoors, where the background noise was recorded at 65 decibels, participants using their headphones turned the volume up to 82 decibels and as high as 95 decibels to drown out the surrounding noise. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines limit exposure to noise at this level to no more than four hours each day. The study concluded that the participants were at risk for hearing damage and recommended avoiding continuous use of [portable stereos] in noisy conditions.

Northwestern Universitys Dean Garstecki offers more specific guidelines: His 60 percent/60 minute rule listen to MP3 Players and iPods for about an hour a day and at levels below 60 percent of maximum volume. The problem is, most of the population using headphones young music fans listen to their music for much longer than one hour per day. But, you can help minimize hearing loss, damage and problems while listening to your favorite music as long as you want to the secret is in the headphones.

Headphones such as the EX29 Extreme Isolation Noise Reduction Headphones help block out external noise allowing you to hear the fine details of your music without blowing out your ear drums. The ear cup fits over the ear, and not in it, and the headphones are lightweight, dont require batteries and can be used with your MP3 Player or iPod. With 29 decibels of isolation from outside sound, the quiet headphones block outside noise and there is no need to crank the volume of your music.

Aging rock stars like the Whos Pete Townsend, who has some permanent hearing loss from years of exposure to loud music, and Mick Fleetwood, who has teamed up with Energizer batteries to promote hearing loss prevention, have brought public attention to the fact that many of us take our hearing for granted. But theres no need to turn off your music just be smarter about how you listen to it. If you are using your MP3 Player or iPod when youre exercising, in a noisy environment or you just want to hear the fine details of your music, ditch the earbud headphones and reach for a set of noise reduction ones instead. And youll be enjoying your favorite music for a long time to come.

Websites Made For Affiliate Programs - Better Than Contextual Advertisement?

When working with internet marketing, making websites designed to generate affiliate commission, it is sometimes difficult to find new niches to make websites about. Trying to find a niche with competitive commissions, but without the following fierce competition is of course hard, but it is not at all impossible.

One popular way of making money online is by using small websites designed only with adsense or any other contextual advertisement in mind. These sites often referred to as mini- or micro-sites - are made to target unusual search phrases, often in highly competitive niches. This way, they can reach fairly high search engine rankings without to much work. The terms targeted will not bring many visitors, but the traffic it does bring will be highly targeted, thus converting well.

When using contextual ads as with any form of paid-per-click programs the main objective is to make visitors click the ads, they do not necessarily have to end up buying anything. Thats for the webmaster buying the clicks to worry about.

When working with pay per sale affiliate programs, one needs to take a different approach. Most affiliate programs operate by a pay per sale model, making it essential to send good traffic their way, i.e. visitors who will actually buy the products promoted.

Compared to a PPC model, this sure is far more work, but the upside is huge. Working in a similar way as with contextual ad websites, you can easily target odd search terms in highly profitable niches, thus receiving search engine visitors of good quality. You might not get that many visitors, but if you are working with the right keywords, many of them will be searching for exactly what you are offering.

There are a lot of online tools to aid you when looking for a niche with good potential revenue, but a fast and easy way to get a grasp of a niche is to do a few searches on google. Looking at the number of results for any given search term will give you an idea of the competition. Mostly this is closely related to the potential profit, as more money naturally attracts more competitors.

Click a few of the sponsored ads, to see what landing pages people are using when buying traffic on that keyword. Remember people are paying to have a visitor see these landing pages, so in most cases they are very well converting, making them excellent to study before you make a website in the same niche.

To fully take advantage of the visitors you send to an affiliate program, you should find a program offering residual commission. This way, you will not only get a commission on the first sale, but get a commission of all future sales to this customer. In a way, its your customer.

Considering the limited amount of visitors expected, another important factor to consider before joining an affiliate program is their promotional material. Are you looking for text links only, or are you looking for graphics for banner advertising on your page? If you can find an affiliate program in your niche, offering affiliate links to specific products rather than the main page, it will make it much easier to target your visitors better. If you are getting visitors using the same search term, its not hard to find a specific product to present them with.

Many websites offer free stuff and/or an initial discount when a new customer joins them. Make sure you are using all the promotions available to you when you join and promote your affiliate program - preferably found at http://www.affiliateranker.com/directory

How to Get Satellite TV for Free Instantly

Get satellite TV for free instantly is a dream come true for many satellite TV fans. The whole idea of having to make monthly payments to the satellite TV service providers has been so entrenched in the minds of satellite TV users that it takes a bit of adjustment to having free access to satellite TV. This article will tell you more about how to get satellite TV for free from home.

What does it take to watch satellite TV for free?

I am not going to talk about setting up a satellite dish TV system. Yes, you can set up a satellite dish system to get free channels from satellite TV stations. But it will take more than just a few hundred words to explain the entire set-up. What I will be sharing is using a simple PC satellite TV software or PCTV cards to get satellite TV for free. And the TV you watch will be from your PC and not your TV set though you can still wire the satellite TV to a TV set.

PC satellite TV software is a new discovery as a result of years of research findings and development. Software developers realized that one can actually make use of internet bandwidth to transmit and receive free to air satellite TV signals from worldwide satellite TV stations. These programs are entirely free and so anyone at home with an internet connection to their PC can get satellite TV for free instantly. The software experts then came up with an application which allows us to watch satellite TV on PC for free. Well, even though the software is not free, the developers have decided to make it readily available at affordable prices so that more people get to enjoy free satellite TV. It also means greater profits to them. These software can be downloaded online.

Another method to get satellite TV for free is to make use of PCTV cards. These cards are hardware that configures our computer to receive satellite TV feeds. You can find both external and internal PCTV cards. Application is similar to other PC peripherals and they can be connected externally through a USB port. If you do not have a spare USB port, you can always buy an adapter off the rack from computer stores.

The computer system requirements for both are generally the same, but I would advise that you check with the PC hardware salesperson if the PCTV card is compatible with the TV. Other than that, here is a list of standard requirements:

1. Pentium III CPU

The minimum requirement is a Pentium III CPU. Anything higher than that would be even better.

2. Operating System

The software and card works well with almost all Windows OS versions such as Win 98, 2000, ME or XP. Even Mac users do not have a problem.

3. Other Peripherals

Peripherals like USB port, sound card, graphics card and CD ROM drive are essential. Other non-essentials like a speaker system or a larger monitor can enhance your viewing experience greatly.

These are the ways to get satellite TV for free. The main differences between the two are the pricing and installation method. TV viewers tend to prefer using PC satellite TV software because of the convenience of download, its ease of setup and cheaper pricing. If you want to display the channels on your TV, just purchase and fix a video card with S-video output on your computer and connect it to the TV.

Find out more at my blog about where you can download this special satellite TV software for a reasonable price.

Online Home Business Article Marketing Tips

Article Marketing is a very powerful and highly effective method of marketing an online home business and the best part of all is that it can be totally free if you have the time to write your own articles and submit them yourself.

Whilst regularly and consistently submitting articles to as many Article Directories will certainly give you and your website a lot of exposure, other areas often overlooked are submitting directly to Ezines, Forums and Authority Sites.

Although some ezine publishers will search the article directories to find suitable material to publish in their ezines, others will have a link on their site inviting the submission of articles.

The many benefits of submitting articles directly to Ezines:

- You could include your name, your credentials, business name, website address and email address in the resource box which will brand not only your website, but your online home business and yourself.

- After submitting a few articles you will become known as an expert on the topics you write about, which will give you and your business extra credibility helping you compete against your competition.

- There is the chance that your article might also be placed on the publisher's home page. Can you imagine the extra exposure you will receive is they publish each issue on their home page?

- Some ezine publishers archive their ezine on their site offering people the opportunity to view back issues prior to making a decision to subscribe. This again will give you extra exposure.

- Getting your article published in an ezine is free and valuable advertising, which will allow you to spend your profits on other forms of advertising or you could for example buy advertisements in ezines that dont publish your articles.

- If you have a natural flair for writing you may well find yourself receiving offers from people wanting to hire you to write articles or books. This is a great way to make extra income.

- Another benefit would be to give the ezine publishers permission to publish your articles in their free ebooks. Your advertising could multiply all over the internet from the information contained in your resource box.

- Some ezine publishers have a free content directory on their website allowing their visitors to republish articles which will give you added exposure. The great thing about article marketing is there is just no limit to where your articles will end up.

- By submitting articles directly to ezines you will gain peoples trust. They will not be as hesitant to buy your product or service if they read and like your article.

- By offering to run one of their articles in your ezine in exchange for having your article run in theirs, will guarantee more exposure for you.

Submitting Articles to Forums:

Some of the larger forums have an area where you can submit your articles and this can be very beneficial as members of the forum may also be ezine publishers and webmasters looking for content to publish in their ezines or on their websites.

Submitting Articles to Authority Sites:

Some of the authority sites also invite the submission of articles and should your article be chosen for publication on any these sites the exposure for you and your website will be vast.

Boost your Online Home Business:

Implementing these Online Home Business Article Marketing Tips as well as submitting your articles to the article directories will give you and your online home business wide ongoing exposure and your search engine rankings will receive a huge boost as you will be accumulating a lot of back links to your website from the anchor text in your resource box.

How To Use Voice Actors For Your Animated Film

When you are faced with casting a voice actor for an animated production, there are certain things you have to know before you proceed. You can't just decide to make a production and then go hire a voice actor and hope everything turns out all right. Even if you have done a lot of work on the script, it is not going to come together unless you cast the right people for the spots. No matter how good the lines are, if the voice actor does not deliver them properly, then your vision is not going to be realized.

You may not even know what a voice actor delivering the lines properly entails. That's all right, if you are willing to turn over some of the creative process to the voice actor. But you have to know enough about it to cast a voice actor you know will do a good job. That means you understand what kind of character you are casting for, and that you consider all of the variables, like accent, before you look for someone to fill the role.

Is your character original and complex? Is he a rogue with a heart of gold and many shades to his personality? A character like that, even in an animated production, is going to need a voice actor that can pull off the complexities of the character. That means you are going to have to understand those complexities so that you can explain them to the voice actorunless, of course, you are willing to give the actor creative license and see what happens. That is a valid approach, but it is best if you are doing that because you trust the performance chops of the voice actor, than because you're just hoping he knows more than you do.

If your character is a stereotype or an archetypal character, you will need a voice actor who can play a strong, even exaggerated, character. The inflections have got to be able to suggest that archetype. For instance, it takes a certain type of oily yet suave voice to play a Mephistophlean role and a voice with even more grease to play the weasel-type character. You know the type I mean. He's usually a fast-talking, small-time crook or a thin henchman. For your project, you have to find someone who can create that effect with his voice and the dialogue alone. The character isn't going to tell your audience he's a greasy henchman.

Does your character have an accent? If so, how realistic should it be? Not every voice actor can do an accent. It takes a lot of work and a real pro to pull off an accent like a native speaker. Think Hugh Laurie, who plays the lead character in House, M.D. He's an Englishman, yet you can't tell he wasn't born and raised on U.S. soil. The exaggerated accent can be done for comic effect or simply to suggest an accent. Audiences have a tolerance for bad accents as long as they are consistent and strong. You will have to know ahead of time that you need a voice actor that can do the accent you need, in the style you need it done.

You don't have to know every last thing about the character's voice before you cast, as small details are impossible to plan for and will be discovered in the process. However, you do need to plan ahead and know what to ask for when you approach an agency looking for a voice actor or seven.

Why Flash?

Many possible technologies exist that can power web based games. Php, HTML, CGI and Java amongst them, but the most common plugin used to design browser games by far is Adobe Flash, previously known as Macromedia Flash. One of the biggest reasons for this is that Flash has become a definite web standard.

Many PCs come with the Flash player installed. It is compatible with Linux, Apple Mac, BSD, cellphones, PDAs and a whole host of other devices. Over 520 million unique installations of Flash have been recorded, and it has been around since the days of Windows 98. This statistic accounts for approximately 95% of all Internet users.

Flash Player is also a free download, so if the user does not have it, it's only a few seconds and negligible bandwidth away, no matter the platform. Likewise, Adobe Flash is a comparably cheap product for the developers, and time input required is minimal to create simple games, compared to using other technologies.

A powerful but often overlooked feature of Flash is that it makes small files. For ten megabytes, in Flash, you can get a full featured game. This helps Flash to appeal to dialup or slower broadband users where Java or C couldn't. Flash can also use database connectivity to save scoreboards, progress and account details, which is rare in a format so smooth.

Flash is efficient, applets made in it tend to run on computers that you'd be hard-pressed to find outside of an antique shop. It is the empowering technology of choice on a certain well-known pet site, which almost certainly has users on dialup and on poor computers.

Something to remember is that Browser Games have a completely different TA (target audience) than that of AAA list games. Browser games are made for the casual player, someone who wants to play immediately and at his/her convenience, as such it must load fast, play fast and keep the user's interest. Developing a successful Flash game is very difficult, because generally if a user becomes disinterested, one or two clicks will take him/her to a completely different game.

So, what about monetizing a Flash game? Well, the standard is based on the shareware model. You have a teaser version of a game on a website and then allow users to download a 'Deluxe' build for a set fee. Often the producer will allow lots of sites to list their 'teaser' games; this is a clever form of viral marketing.

Possibly the most solid reason to use Flash is that it would always be fairly easy to find people willing to draw in the Flash SWF vector format. Other technologies would require external animation but with Flash, the motion, the drawing and the script can all be done in a single interface.

Graphical objects within this interface can have specified alpha values, positionings, angles of rotation, explosion effects and many built in motion tweening effects. It is this versatility and built in function that makes it a real joy to work with.

Flash is fast-becoming the only standard for browser based gaming, because it requires no real programming knowledge. The scripting language is very well explained on several websites, and in the included tutorials.

But the main reason? Simple. There are many very dedicated sites out there which will effectively get your product out for free. Even if all the other points in this article didn't exist, it is the only format with true open distribution.

The Dating Crossroad

As with everything change will happen even in dating. It is always necessary to take time and evaluate your dating experience before making any decisions. Gabby Love offers key tips and techniques to do this correctly.

A. Explore the compatibility aspect of the relationship.

1. Focus on how much time you really spend together. I mean is it really quality time or "booty" time?

2. Do you really enjoy being together or do you dread being around them all together?

3. Have you noticed the time spent together increasing or altogether shrinking?

4. Do you fight like "cats and dogs" or not at all ? Hey, this is really key. The whole point of dating is to find someone who really understands and accepts you and your ways without change.

B. Common tastes and interests.

1. How many of the same things do both parties like?

2. Do you have any friends in common? Remember the old saying "birds of a feather flock together"?

3. Do you get along with each others friends and family? Hey if the relationship gets deeper this is very key. Really give this thought before committing deeper in a relationship.

4. Are both parties adventurous and trusting to explore new things together?

Goal orientated observations.

1. Do you desire the same things in life? Give this some real thought because for example if you want kids and your mate doesn't you need to know early enough before fully committing deeper in the relationship.

2. What direction in life are both of you headed?

3. Do both parties want the same thing in a relationship? If you don't know then ask before committing deeper in the relationship.

4. How are both parties ideas on money and the balancing on time. Money can be a real make or break aspect of a relationship. All money and time issues should be discussed fully before moving deeper in a relationship.

The above are just a few points to consider when trying to decide to "bail out" or stay in a relationship. Always be fair with yourself and the other person when doing your own evaluation. Remember "it is always best to be safe then sorry" when dealing with a relationship.

Dear Office Dweller

The following letter is a composite of feedback from road warriors in the field to the much respected and appreciated office dwellers who occupy the ivory towers, headquarters or maze of cubicles. The office dwellers are the curators of much needed scrolls, documents, data, financial information and other incredibly essential data and processes that enable the organization to function. The road warrior is the tireless face and voice at the front lines of the information supply chain, responsible for maintaining that delicate balance between the vision of the clients and the magic of what really happens behind the curtain.

"Did you get my electronic calendar invitation for our meeting in ten minutes?"

No, I did not get your electronic invitation for the meeting.

I am currently sitting in front of a very important client and giving my undivided attention. The Cell phone is turned to Vibrate and put away to avoid distraction. The laptop computer is turned off and in it's case. I have a pad and paper in front of me to take notes on highlights of our conversation. The client has my complete attention, especially when we are face to face. The client has specific needs and a vision of the future. I need to understand that vision and effectively communicate how our features will meet the needs of the client. When we are together, the client and I, we have one purpose that isolates us from the interruptions of the outside world. Our purpose is to find the best solution for a mutually beneficial business arrangement.

When the meeting is done, I will have to use my notes to draft a comprehensive document that I will send back to the ivory towers. This document must accurately convey the details of our conversation with the needs and vision of the client. It must accurately assess and explain the mutually beneficial business arrangement and establish the covenants or commitments of our conversation. My notes of those critical personal moments shared with the client will become the basis for a thesis that will be drafted many hours later in a hotel room in another city.

That electronic calendar invitation is buried amid two hundred and one other emails, many of which are from other clients. I will ready them all when I sit at my hotel room desk, eat my hotel cookie and drink my single serving hotel room coffee. The hotel has a Jacuzzi, pool and amenities that I will never see. What are the real amenities for a road warrior? High Speed internet connection, clean bed, hot shower and a continental breakfast are what constitute Home Sweet Home.

"Did you get the email with the attached 32MB Video of the receptionist's granddaughter's birthday party, the pictures from the company sponsored Bar-Be-Cue, the invitation to have your car washed in the parking lot or the plethora of other emails with embedded cartoons and enormous attachments?"

Some places still define high speed internet connection as a 56k modem or a single wireless router available from the hotel lobby. Hopefully the download will be complete before I finish packing my suitcase in the morning. I can't wait to read the internal company announcement about the hot lunch yesterday, accompanied by the gratuitous oversized images of greasy burgers, fries and pizza slices. I am tempted to send an email with embedded pictures of my bran muffin and banana but fear that the humor will only create another burdensome download to my fellow road warriors. Besides, somebody already beat me to the punch line and responded with a "Reply to All" message to HR that included a social security number and complete medical history. There will be at least ten to fifteen more "Reply to All" messages that simply say "Thank You", but I won't know that until I open them. I have worn the letters off of my delete key.

"Did you read the email that I just sent to you?"

Thank you for the phone call. I am now driving in bumper to bumper traffic with one hand on my cell phone so I can talk to you. In my other hand is a pen, ready to scribble notes on the printed directions that I downloaded from some mapping software three days ago. I know that this call must be really important if you take the time to write the email and then call to make sure that I see it and respond. Where am I?

On the passenger side of the car is a slowly wilting drive-through lunch. A cup of car temperature coffee is perched in the console beside my elbow. I am driving with my knees and trying to avoid that other erratic driver who does not seem to be paying attention to the road or traffic. Was that my exit?

That's right, my cell phone does get messages. I wonder if I can scroll through my messages and read the pinpoint text while simultaneously talking to you about the attached files. Can you hear me? I think that I found the email that you are talking about. Yes, this is the email. Was that a police officer that I just passed? Is it legal to talk on the cell phone while driving in this city? Better not take any chances, I have to hang up for now and call you back. I may not be able to talk on the cell phone, but I don't think that there are any laws about doing email or text messaging on your phone while driving, not yet anyway.

"I just sent you an IM, did you get it?"

Oh, you mean the Instant Message that you sent to ask me if I read the email that you called about while I am trying to drive? Sorry, I missed that one. Calculating route, when possible, please make a legal U-Turn. Oh, it is the agenda for the conference call that started five minutes ago. I need to provide a report and rolling forecast based on the staff meeting today? What meeting?

"Oh, we decided to change that feature three days ago. It is not available anymore."

I see, the features that I just explained to our client are no longer available. The new features will cost three times as much. The meeting that you just scheduled is for me to present how we are going to sell these expensive new features and to provide an updated forecast on the revised revenue. What, it is my turn to present? You do realize that I am hundreds of miles away right now, don't you? No, I can not email my presentation and review it with everyone by phone right now. Why? I have not started the presentation yet. I must have missed the announcement. What's that? Oh, you were not aware of the changes either and there was mp announcement. I understand completely, trust me, I really do.

So, we have a new company strategy and a new corporate direction. We have decided to reinvent ourselves. There will be a big meeting to unveil our new business plan and assigned goals. I got it. What's that? Oh, I need to submit my presentation on how I will achieve those goals and my plan must be sent before the close of business today. I'm sorry, you are breaking up. It must be a bad connection because I am close to the airport now. I do not know if you can hear me, but if you can then I want to you know that I will be boarding a plane soon and will call you again later from another city to find out what you are trying to tell me. Better yet, send an email.

"I bet you really enjoy those frequent flyer miles."

You really have no idea how much I look forward to taking my vacation, at home. After several weeks on the road and a different hotel room every night, I look forward to my own bed, the one that I picked out and paid for. These days we need to arrive at the airport at least two hours before the scheduled flight. This is not productive time. Imagine spending one quarter of your eight hour day in the office standing in line with your shoes in your hand. There is a line to check in, a line to go through security and a line at to board the plane. When you arrive, stand in line to collect your luggage and another line to get your rental car. Of course, you can bypass the line to collect your luggage if you do not travel with toothpaste, shaving cream, deodorant, any gels or liquids. You can identify those fellow passengers who have elected to expedite the cattle car processing by jettisoning their personal toiletries. It would be impolite to discuss how you can identify these passengers, just trust me on this one, you can.

Working on the computer on a tray table is only effective if you the proportionate arms of a Tyrannosaurus Rex and if the individual in front of you is incapable of reclining. More than likely, you will be staring at the liver pots in the bald patch on the top of the head in front of you for hours. Remember to bring large bills in exact change to pay for your wedge of wet cheese, two individually wrapped crackers and box of sixteen fabulous handpicked raisins. Ask for a receipt so you can expense your mid-air snack and then pay for the aisle or window seat next to you so you can claim it as entertainment expense if the snack is over your approved per diem.

If you fly as often as I do then you also get the benefit of memorizing the dialogue from abbreviated movies that you would not pay to see in the theatres. Of course, the bad language, violence and parental guidance scenes are all removed to make the movies safe for general audiences. Needless to say, we will never see Ozzy Osbourne on the eight inch monitors. Would you like to hear us recite the complete dialogue from "Coal Miner's Daughter" or "Vanity Fair"?

"You must hate your job."

On the contrary, I love it. The travel, the schedule, the hours and the inconveniences are sacrifices that must be made in the pursuit of a passion. Road warriors do not travel for the excitement of hotels, or for frequent flyer miles or because we enjoy the restaurants. The travel and time are a means to an end, and that end is something much more meaningful and personal. If you were to talk to us, really talk to us for a few hours, you would learn that the real passion is for family. For some road warriors that pursuit of accomplishment means a better life for a spouse or children at home. Every day away from home is a personal sacrifice that is an investment for the ones that are left behind. For other road warriors, the family is defined as the coworkers in the ivory towers. For these people it is the professional family and the success of the organization that keeps the fire burning within. For some other road warriors the extended family includes a special personal relationship with clients, and a true dedication to help each customer achieve their individual aspirations. For the vast majority of road warriors it is a combination of all of these things, the family at home, the family at work and the extended client family on the road.

We make sacrifices, but we are thankful to have the chance to do it and grateful to the people in the ivory tower. Office dwellers are a source of constant support and amusement, for this we salute you

Sincerely,

Your Devoted Road Warrior in the Field

Blogs And Search Engine Ranking - How To Get To The Top

t is generally easier to improve search engine rankings for a dynamic blog than it is for static website pages. Blogs and blog posts are liked by search engines because they are frequently updated with new content, they are rich in text and links , and they tend not to have complicated HTML.

Optimizing a blog to improve search engine rankings is similar to optimizing a website, and optimizing a blog post is similar to optimizing a single web page. By using the following tips and techniques, you can achieve an impressive search engine ranking for your blog. For additional tips to optimize your blog, visit http://www.optimizeblogtips.com

1) Ensure that your blog can be easily spidered by the search engines. 'Spidering' refers to the process by which search engine software robots crawl web pages. A navigation sidebar should be present on all pages of your blog. You also want your previous blog posts to be accessible from each page of your blog so that they can be spidered easily.

2) Obtain links from other blogs and websites. Links pointing to your blog or blog posts are vital to improve search engine rankings. These backlinks should come from websites and blogs dealing with similar topics to your blog ie. they should be related in some way to your blog. To get high-quality links back to your blog, submit your blog and RSS feed to blog search engines. Blogs based on similar themes are often willing to exchange links with other blogs which creates blog networks. Some bloggers use 'trackbacks' to build links( a trackback is a form of communication between blogs).

3) Frequently update your blog content. Search engines love fresh content. Make regular posts to your blogs in order to improve your search engine ranking.

4) Include your primary keyword in your blog's URL. Your domain or subdomain should include the main keyword that you want to optimize your blog for. If you are wanting to brand yourself or your business, consider including your name or the name of your company in the domain. For more information about personal or business branding, visit http://www.onlinebrandingsecrets.com

5) Place your main keyword phrase in both blog header meta tags as well as in the title of your blog posts. For example, if you are trying to optimize your blog for the keyword phrase 'natural asthma remedies', make sure this phrase appears in title of each of your blog posts as well as in your H1 or H2 meta tags.

6) Don't forget to include your keywords in the anchor text of links if you are linking to other pages in your website or to other blog posts. Linking your blog to your website is a great way of generating quality traffic.

7) Place your other keywords in the body text of your blog posts as well as intermittently in your article titles and links. Don't overuse keywords in your text as your posts will tend not to make sense and they won't read well.

8) If you change the domain name and hosting for your blog, you run the risk of losing loyal visitors, traffic and search engine ranking. If possible, keep the same blog domain and host.

By using these simple, yet effective blog optimization techniques, you too can achieve a top search engine ranking for your blog. Only once you have done this, can your blog start reaching its true profit potential.

How To Top The Search Engines Using Linking The Easy Way

The purpose of this article is to explain what linking is, the importance of linking, and how to use it to catapult your search engine rankings.

So, just what is linking? Well, put simply, it's the online equivalent of getting "votes" for your website, and getting those links is a lot easier than you might think.

Right, if I seem to digress a little here, trust me, it is relevant. To understand linking you need to know a little bit about "spiders" and their purpose. Spiders are programs that "crawl" sites and report back to their search engine what their findings are. Their purpose is to make it easy for sites to get listed in their search engine.

Spiders work by finding links (see, I told you it was relevant) to websites, visiting those websites, going through the content, and then reporting the findings back to the site for which they are working. I.E. Google spiders crawl sites and report back to the main database. From there the information is added to the search engine, and the site shows up in Google search results. The same happens with pretty much any search engine.

OK, that's the basic nuts and bolts. So what does it mean to you and how can you use it to increase your rankings? Well, essentally, by having good quality and relevant content on your website (your optimised articles) you'll be pleasing the spiders. Now if you have links from other sites related to your content as well then, you're way ahead of the game. Spiders love links.

Now here's the good bit. All you need to do in order to get links back to your website is submit articles to article directories, or write a press release related to your niche market. You link back to your site from the resource box at the bottom of your article or press release.

Other website owners in your niche will be on the lookout for content to add to their own site, and will visit article directories to do so. They'll pick up on your article, add it to their site ( they legally have to keep the resource box with your link intact) so now you have other sites linking to yours all over the place. This will really impress the spiders and your rankings will start to shoot up.

To find article directories simply go to your favourite search engine and type in "article directories" you will find loads. They are the life blood of the net.

As I mentioned before, press releases are another great way to get links back to your site. Not only that, they are a brilliant way to get free publicity for your ebook or site. It's easy, just go to prweb.com and submit your press release to them. It will cost a small amount to have them blast it all over the internet, but it will mean that you get dozens, hundreds, or even thousands, of one way links back to you site. What do you think that will do to your rankings?

OK, there you have it, all that remains is for you to go out and do it. Trust me, it's not only easy, it's fun, and it does work. Enjoy.

What Makes a Great Speaker?

When people hear that I owned a national, professional speakers bureau for 13 years, they often ask me, who are the best speakers and why? What follows are some of the characteristics of a very successful speaker who is often a highly paid speaker.

'Tell' em what you're going to tell them, tell them, and then tell' em what you told them."

1. They arrive early and check out the sound system and introduce themselves to audience members during the networking time.

2. They speak on a subject that their audience needs to hear. And they use words and body language that shows their passion and authenticity.

3. They connect with their audience in the first few minutes with a riveting story, a funny incident, a startling statement or perhaps a poem. They know how to make their opening remarks relate to the material that follows.

4. They have no fear. They don't only say what the audience wants to hear, but what they NEED to hear. In other words, their remarks may raise some eyebrows. They give their audiences some fresh ideas.

5. They never make more than 3-4 points in their speech. They don't feel the need to tell an audience everything they know. No one can retain it all. For each major point they tell an illustrative story. A good story evokes emotion and offers a lesson. The audience members are then only a step away from their own story.

6. They make great eye contact and make each person feel attended to. This makes them appear to be more heartfelt and really present for their audience.

7. Before closing, they summarize and reiterate their major points. They end with an inspiring story and a call to action. They hold the audience accountable - to take some action in the next few days, weeks.

8. They don't talk too long. They know how much time they have been assigned and they don't exceed it.

9. They rehearse their speech a few times but never sound canned. They NEVER read their speech verbatim.

10. All successful speakers market themselves. They all promote themselves. And they all network. They are a model of excellence. And you can be too!

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in Internet Marketing

If you are already running an Internet marketing campaign or are about to embark on an Internet marketing campaign, one concept you cannot afford to skimp on is search engine optimization (SEO). SEO is one of the most popular buzz words in Internet marketing but unfortunately most Internet marketers simply do not know enough about SEO to make this strategy work for them. Even those who are knowledgeable about SEO may have difficulty executing their SEO strategies to produce the desired affect.

Advertising is a very important part of running any type of business. You need to advertise to reach new customers and market your products or services. Whether you run your business online or not you probably already realize how important it is to advertise but if you are running your business online you should understand there is a great deal of free advertising available in the form of optimal search engine rankings.

Well known search engines such as Google rank websites according to complex algorithms which are designed to determine which websites are most relevant for particular search terms. Therefore taking the time and effort to optimize your website for relevant search terms may result in you being rewarded with high search engine rankings for these terms. This is important because most Internet users rely heavily on these rankings. It is not uncommon for Internet users to only review the first few results when they search for a particular term. This means if your website ranks high enough to appear on the first page of the search results you will likely enjoy increased website traffic. However, if your website doesnt make it to the first page or even the second page, it is unlikely you will receive a great deal of website traffic from visitors who use search engines.

Now that you understand why search engine rankings are so important you might wonder how to achieve these rankings. The easiest way to optimize your website is to hire a SEO specialist to do the work for you. The world of SEO is complex and continually evolving making it difficult for most business owners who do not specialize in SEO to keep up with the changes in the industry. Therefore, business owners who attempt to optimize their website by themselves may have difficulty keeping up with competitors who hire a SEO consultant to optimize their website.

The algorithms used by search engines can be rather complex and include a number of different factors. Some of the common factors in the equation include keyword density, META tags, titles, inbound links, website traffic and content.

Keyword density refers to the number of times a particular keyword is used in the content of your website. The theory behind this concept is that website which use a keyword often are likely extremely relevant to that keyword, however, overuse of that keyword may result in penalties to the website if the search engine deemed the keywords are not being used appropriately.

META tags are pieces of HTML code which some search engines use in evaluating the content of a website. Placing keywords in these tags can be beneficial in some search engines. However, care should be taken to avoid placing irrelevant keywords in these tags as this may result in your website being penalized.

Inbound links are also used by some search engines to rank websites. Inbound links refer to links on other websites which point to your website. In evaluating the worth of these inbound links, some search engines consider the rank of the website providing the link to your website. This means you should ensure the website providing inbound links to your website are high ranking websites to receive the most benefit from these links.

Finally, the content on your website can do a great deal to bolster your search engine rankings. Most SEO firms retain a staff of writers who are skilled at providing quality content which is also optimized for relevant keywords. If you hire a SEO firm who does not providing copywriting services you should invest in hiring a professional writer yourself. This will help to ensure the copy on your website is not only valuable to your visitors but also considered valuable to search engines.

Network+ Certification Exam Tutorial: DHCP And RARP

Part of passing the Network+ exam is mastering the many different protocols and services you're introduced to in your studies, and that's especially hard when two protocols do much the same thing! That's the case with RARP and DHCP, so let's take a close look at these two protocols and why we use them in the first place.

Whether you've been around networks for a while or are just getting started with your IT career, you'll quickly notice that many basic tasks in networking can be handled either statically or dynamically. By "statically", I mean configuring each device in question manually; by "dynamically", I mean having it done (almost) automatically. Generally, you're going to choose the dynamic method, and not because it's easier or quicker - it's because dynamic methods are much more adaptable to change, and today's networks are always changing.

For example, let's take the task of assigning IP addresses. Let's say you've got 100 PCs that need an IP address. You could go to each workstation and assign the address, subnet mask, and default gateway personally, or you could go to each workstation and enable each workstation to use DHCP to get its IP address from a DHCP server.

You may wonder why you'd choose DHCP instead of static addressing - after all, each choice involves going to the workstation personally, right? At first, yes. But what if the addressing scheme changes? What if six months from now you need these same PCs to be assigned addresses using a totally different addressing scheme? If you configured the PCs manually, you've got to go around to the PCs again and change them manually, but if you are using DHCP, you only need to change the information on the DHCP server itself to be just about done!

Now that we've discussed why you'd use DHCP, let's talk about what it is. DHCP is the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, and this protocol allows us to configure a DHCP Server that will contain the range of addresses to be assigned, as well as the subnet mask, default gateway, DNS servers, and other information that we want our PCs to learn when they are booted up.

When a PC configured to get its IP address dynamically comes onto the network, it will send a DHCP broadcast packet. This packet will be answered by every DHCP server that receives it, and the PC will use the IP address assigned to it by the first DHCP server that responds to the original request. The PC acknowledges the receipt of this address to all DHCP servers via another broadcast, so addresses sent to the PC by other DHCP servers are returned to the pool of available addresses.

This IP address does not belong to the PC forever. When the DHCP server is configured, the length of the DHCP Lease is set. This value is the amount of time the host devices will retain a DHCP address assigned to them by this DHCP server. When the lease expires, a renegotiation must take place between the DHCP client (the host device) and the server.

Earlier in this Network+ exam tutorial, I mentioned that there may come a time when you need to change IP assignments on your DHCP Server. But what about the IP addresses that the hosts already have? You can force the host to release its current DHCP-assigned IP address by going to the command prompt and entering "ipconfig /release" (without the quotation marks). To then have the PC request a new IP address, enter "ipconfig /renew".

Notice that we've talked a great deal about DHCP and not much about RARP (Reverse Address Resolution Protocol)? DHCP is much more popular today than RARP, and certification exams tend to reflect that fact. Know both of these methods of dynamic IP address assignment, and you're on your way to passing the Network+ exam!

College Football Betting Cues

A number of dicey factors, including the disparity between the nation's finest teams and those that still have struggling programs, the massive turnover of personnel each year, and the absurdly large number of teams involved, conspire to make college football betting far more difficult than its NFL counterpart.

With the college gridiron campaign currently in full swing, bettors would be wise to join experienced bookmakers in analyzing these three key factors:

The Gap Factor: The difference between upper echelon teams and middle to bottom teams can be enormous in college football betting. When you have that situation, certain oddsmaking criteria go out the window. For example, when you have an Ohio State or a USC on the road, the talent level versus an Indiana or an Arizona is going to be so wide that it will negate any home field advantage those teams may have. Of course, that goes for other college super powers such as a Florida or a Texas.

So, although most books use Power Ratings as a place to begin the pointspread making process, they're not nearly as reliable as they are for the NFL. For example, when Texas opened the season with a sparring partner in North Texas State, it was difficult to know what the right number was. Most books settled on 42 with the knowledge that the final score would depend on the mercy of the Long Horns. Alas, Texas showed little sympathy for its overwhelmed opponent, crushing North Texas State, 56-7 for the cover.

Given the above example--Louisville (-40) versus Temple, Sept. 9 was another--typically, bookmakers often add a touchdown or so to the raw numbers. Conversely, if you're using pure Power Ratings, they can be skewed if you're looking at scores such as 56-0, 62-0 and 72-7 heading into conference play. That's a different level.

The People Factor: From year to year you have a much greater turnover of personnel in the college game than you do in the NFL. That means there's a sharper learning curve each year for the colleges. You might get every bit of information about a team for two months but then every thought and every projection you had for that team could change after the first game. New players really can't be judged until bet takers see them in a game. Admittedly, the college football betting public is in the same boat.

So even though responsible bookmakers put in an incredible amount of work during the summer to get a feel for the college teams, they never know if their assessments are valid until the teams start playing.

The Numbers Factor: There's no doubt that it's easier to keep tabs on 32 NFL teams than it is to keep track of over 100 college squads. The NFL is all there for you, on television every weekend. In college football betting, the big games are there but most bet house personnel arent going to see a lot of Wyoming or Louisiana Tech on the tube. As oddsmakers, they need to be right on every game. The bettor only has to be right on a few games each week to be successful. Obviously, from the perspective of the bookmakers, it's a lot more dangerous posting numbers on 50 college games than it is on 16 NFL games.

There are a number of other differences between the collegiate gridiron game and its NFL cousin.

For one, in general, bettors are far more willing to lay big numbers in college than they are in the NFL. Its just the nature of the non-professional gambler to lay it rather than take it. Or as one prominent bookmaker pointed out, "You have to give them a minus or they don't know which side to take. When in doubt, they go with the favorite."

Scheduling also is more of a consideration in college football betting because the players lack maturity and are more susceptible to the emotional high of playing a rival, not to mention the letdown often associated with games preceding or following one of those contests.

Another thing to watch is the emergence of a betting glamour team. It's a team that gets hot early and captures the imagination of the college football betting public. LSU did that when it went 11-2 against the spread in 2003. Auburn was the hot team a year before that. Bookmakers are aware of these teams and are constantly adjusting the numbers, but until that team loses a couple of times, the public bets them every week.
